How could I not podcast and post? After years of writing about sexualization of girls and objectification of women, I had to ask myself, and my former student now prof, Madeline Brodt, am I a bit off? I watched a few Cardi B interviews and found her kind of adorable. Then I watched the rap video, and was horrified at first, not about w-ness, but in the self-sexualization, and then I watched it again and again and found the humor in it, the sexual clowning, and I kinda get it. Maybe I don’t get it like all the other people raving about it, but I’ve found some peace with it and what it is doing and trying to do (setting aside the trying to make a whole lot of cash.)
